Why should teenagers learn Spanish? After English, Spanish is a key language with a growing population of 500 million speakers around the world, of which 20% are from the United States. Law, tourism, education, engineering, publishing, medicine: whatever young generations decide to study, Spanish will be an asset and assure a greater chance of success. Additionally, Spanish is not regarded as a difficult language and does not require such a heavy time investment as other foreign languages.
How does it work? What’s included? Spanish for teenagers takes place from mid June to the end of August in both clic Seville and clic Cadiz. There is no minimum entry level and the minimum age is 13 years old. With a fully comprehensive leisure programme in addition to Spanish lessons in small groups of maximum 12 students (Average 9), teenagers from all over the world get together from June to August in Seville or Cadiz. Lessons take place every morning from Monday to Fridays and afternoons are dedicated to outdoor activities in which students interact with the Spanish speaking environment. Juniors are placed in home stay and full board with caring and warm host families in double rooms shared with another nationality. The Spanish study holidays with clic Seville and Cadiz includes all services, from pick up and drop off at the closest airports (Seville, Cadiz or Malaga) to chaperons and monitors looking after teenagers, leisure and sports activities.
What about safety, rules and health? Seville and Cadiz are safe medium-sized cities with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our host families are selected very carefully and checked on a regular basis. The host families, as well as the school, are responsible for the safety and health of the young hosts and they receive clear guidelines on rules and regulations to be strictly followed. As per diet, the families are selected on the basis of balanced and healthy foods which include fruits and vegetables. Seville or Cadiz? As mentioned before, both are medium-sized cities although Seville is much larger (approx. 750,000) and offers an extraordinary wide range of cultural and leisure activities. It is the place where teenagers learning Spanish will have the opportunity to visit unique monuments such as the Cathedral, the third largest Catholic Cathedral in the world, the Roman Ruins of Italica (birth place of the Emperor Adrian), the Museo de Flamenco (Flamenco Museum), etc. Seville, regarded as one of the most beautiful cities of Europe, offers an impressive Roman and Moresque architectural heritage that surprisingly combines well with its modern and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Cadiz is a smaller city (a population of approx. 150,000) and offers stunning sandy beaches right in the heart of the city. It is a quiet and relaxing city full of small, typical streets that reflect very well the tranquil pace of Mediterranean life. Choosing Cadiz also gives students the opportunity during excursions to see amazing natural parks and eye-catching scenery such as the Tarifa dunes, the beach of Bolonia or the White Arabic villages such as Vejer de la Frontera.
